Boxers Photos - Present Day Usage

Boxers are a national symbol of Great Britain. The most important characteristics of the breed are: medium size, smooth coat, heavy, thickly set, low-swung body, massive short-faced head, wide shoulders and sturdy limbs. During the old times, these dogs were good working dogs.

Earlier, the dogs' uses were guards and fighters although nowadays Boxers still bear the characteristics that they used to have. They produce an impression of great strength and endurance. Males are larger and stronger than that of females. Males are 23-27 inches at the withers while females are 21-25 inches at the withers.

A Boxer is a "true" working dog that is capable of catching wild boar or rough cattle, and protecting the ranch. Their uses as working dogs, guards, protectors, and fighting dogs contributed to their development. This breed is extremely well muscled and possesses a powerful jaw and an agile body.

Boxers Photos - Training

A Boxer needs training from the earliest age. Patience and obedience in your dog is important training. It is better if you hire a professional trainer as he has already enough experience working with these dogs.

You need not to encourage your Boxer to become aggressive. It possesses inherited instincts of protection and there is no need to train the fighting characteristic in the Boxer. When necessary, Boxers will protect you by guided instincts.
