Boxer Dog Rescue

Those who cannot buy a purebred dog from a breeder can adopt a “second hand” dog from a Boxer dog rescue. There are many rescues for purebreds in the USA, Canada, and other countries. The more popular a breed is, the more purebred dogs are surrendered by their owners. It happens because many people buy dogs on impulse after they see a cute dog of this breed in a movie or in the park. Unknowledgeable owners can neither take good care of a new dog nor train or socialize it. If a dog, especially a large and strong one, like a Boxer, is left on its own and not given early socialization and obedience training, it becomes difficult to control and potentially dangerous both for the owner and for strangers.

It often happens that a dog of a popular breed is bought as a present for a child. Kids and teenagers are often not responsible and cannot be trusted a large and powerful Boxer. If other members of the family cannot devote much time to training the dog and walking with it, the only way out for such people is to give the dog up to a Boxer dog rescue. Another reason for surrendering a purebred dog is a health disorder. Most people don’t like problematic dogs and want to get rid of a senior or ill Boxer. If a dog was obtained from an unreliable source like a puppy mill or a backyard breeder, it’s more prone to developing health disorders than dogs purchased from responsible breeders.

A serious breeder insists on taking a dog back, if it develops a health disorder or the own cannot keep the dog any longer. Only a small part of dogs surrendered to a Boxer dog rescue were given up because of personal or financial problems of their owners. Such dogs are usually given proper socialization and training.

When adopting a dog from a rescue, you don’t have an opportunity to learn about its background and the former owner. When choosing a rescue Boxer you can test its personality, appearance, and health. All homeless dogs are kept in foster families prior to adoption. Foster owners know much about their dogs and can help in choosing the suited pet. New owners have to pay a donation fee to the Boxer dog rescue.
